The Imitation Game is an intriguingly well-crafted espionage thriller, as well as a riveting character study that is blended in one of the year’s most tightly edited film. The true story of Alan Turing is done justice in a fascinating biography that explores the depth of his character, as well as the perils of war. The Imitation Game is a full on period piece that captures its time period excellently through its brilliant direction and transcendent performances. Considering the real life events that transpired, it’s remarkable that the film could avoid focusing on the anger of tragedy, and instead on the success of achievement. Grade: A
