Jurassic World is a mediocre film with many brilliant an awe-inspiring moments, equally matched by weaker moments with characters and emotion. Despite the film’s uneven quality, there’s a great entertainment factor, as well as some fine performances from its great cast. However, the film does rely heavily on nostalgia from the 1993 original Jurassic Park more than standing alone as an individual film.Jurassic World is spectacle over story, but the spectacle is a great piece of summer blockbuster entertainment that doesn’t feel brainless. The strong cast, brilliant score, and great direction all help to cover up some of the issues, and the film is a worthy, albeit inferior, sequel to the great franchise. Grade: B-
